Child Welfare

When a child welfare agency, such as Job and Family Services, becomes involved with your family, the stakes could not be higher. We represent parents, guardians, and relatives in:

  • Dependency, neglect, and abuse proceedings
  • Custody and case plan disputes with children's services agencies
  • Permanent custody and termination of parental rights hearings
  • Reunification efforts and case plan compliance
  • Kinship and relative placement matters

Representation for families who fall through the gap. Many parents facing a children's services case earn just enough that the court won't appoint them a public defender, but not nearly enough to afford typical private attorney rates — especially when a case can stretch on for months. We recognize this gap and offer services structured for families in this position, including flexible fee arrangements and rates designed to make experienced representation actually attainable. If you've been told you make "too much" for a court-appointed attorney but don't feel you can afford a private one, we'd encourage you to reach out before assuming you have no options.

Juvenile Delinquency

When a child is accused of a delinquent act, the outcome of the case can shape the rest of their life. We represent juveniles and their families at every stage of the delinquency process, including:

  • Detention hearings
  • Arraignments and adjudicatory hearings
  • Dispositional hearings
  • Probation violations
  • Records sealing and expungement for juvenile offenses
  • Transfer (bindover) proceedings to adult court

Our goal is always to protect the child's rights, minimize long-term consequences, and, where appropriate, connect families with diversion programs or alternatives to formal adjudication.
